Best Tablets below 10K, 15K and 20K

  • Sharebar

Accept it or not! Tablets have gone viral. Gradually the prices are going down as more and more players are jumping in to it. The month of August was important as it saw the launch of a few affordable tablets (e.g. Reliance Tab, Beetel Magiq, Mercury mTab etc) which could completely change the game.

However, more option always results in to more confusion. To help you out mobiletalks.in brings you this exclusive report highlighting the goods and bads of best available tablets in the sub-10k, sub-15k and sub-20k price range.

Best tablets under Rs. 10,000 in India

1. Lacs Magnum Pepper M74V : Rs. 6,299

magnum-paprika

Lakshmi Access Communications Systems (LACS), a Bangalore based company last month announced a range of 14 affordable tablets. The cheapest of the range was Lacs Magnum Pepper. It is also the cheapest android tablet in India as of now. Considering the price, feature set is quite impressive.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800×480 px LCD sensitive (read resistive) touch display
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 800 Mhz CPU
  • 3G compatible dongle, Wi-FI enabled
  • Front camera

Avoid for:

  • Resistive touchscreen
  • No integrated 3G
  • No back camera

Other details:

2. Mercury mTab : Rs. 9,499

mercury-7-inch-tablet-android

Mercury is a recognized player in the field of computer peripherals and is now the latest entrant in tablet market. Powered by 1.2 Ghz triple core processor (and that’s wow) Mercury mTab seems a real deal for its price.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800×480 px LCD capacitive touch display
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • Triple Core, 1.2 GHz Processor
  • 3G compatible dongle, Wi-FI enabled
  • 1.3 Mega Pixels Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • No Main Camera
  • No integrated 3G

Other details:

3. Beetel Magiq : Rs. 9,899

Beetel-Magiq

Beetel Magiq from Airtel is actually the rebranded Huawei Ideos S7. Except the resistive touchscreen and Android 2.2, the tablet has everything one can except in a below 10k tablet.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800×480 px LCD resistive touch display
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 1 GHz Snapdragon Processor
  • 3G, Wi-FI enabled
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • Resistive touchscreen

Best tablets under Rs. 15,000 in India

4. Spice Tab Mi-720 : Rs. 11,990

spice-tab-mi-720-landscape-0

Launched by Spice mobility, Spice MI-720 is another great deal with a better brand name. This is also the cheapest Android tablet in India with both must be features, The capacitive touchscreen and inbuilt 3G. I wish it had a better processor.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800×480 px LCD capacitive touch display
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 800 MHz Snapdragon Processor
  • Adreno 200 Graphics Processor
  • 3G, Wi-FI enabled
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • VGA Camera (Front)
  • HTML Browser with Adobe Flash Player

Avoid for:

  • They could have provided Android 2.3

Other details:

5. Reliance 3G Tab : Rs. 12,999

reliance-3g-tab

The name says it all. It’s a 3G enabled tablet from Reliance. Nice tablet, great features, but the catch is that its locked with Reliance and hence is suitable only for areas where Reliance is already providing the 3G services.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800×480 px LCD capacitive touch display
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • 800 MHz Processor
  • 3G, Wi-FI enabled
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • VGA Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • Locked to Reliance

Other details:

6. MSI WindPad Enjoy 7 : Rs. 12,999 & Enjoy 10 : Rs. 14,999

MSI-tablet

Launched in early August, MSI Windpad comes in two variants, MSI Windpad Enjoy 7 (7-inch screen) and MSI Windpad Enjoy 10 (10-inch screen). Except of the screen size. all features of both the tablets are same. Both lacks 3G and GPS features which, according to MSI authorities, are not much used in India. However it supports 3G dongle.

Buy for:

  • Enjoy 7 : 7 inch 800 x 480 px capacitive touch display
  • Enjoy 10 : 10.1 inch 1024 x 768 px capacitive touch display
  • Adobe Flash 10.1 Support
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • 1.2 Ghz ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 3G dongle compatible, Wi-FI enabled
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • 2 Mega Pixels Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • No integrated 3G
  • No GPS
  • Poor battery life

Other details:

7. Olive Pad VT100 : Rs 14,999

olive-v-t100

One of the oldest tablet of the bunch. Olive Pad VT100, which was launched for Rs. 25k sometime is now a good option for around 15k.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800 x 480 px capacitive touch display
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 600 Mhz ARM 11 processor
  • 3G, Wi-FI enabled
  • 5 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • 0.3 Mega Pixels Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • Processor too low in comparison to peer tablets

Other details:

Best tablets under Rs. 20,000 in India

This segment is still waiting for few good options. Probably you will see some good high end tablets coming below 20k within a few months. The only available (not so cool) option is listed below.

8. ViewSonic ViewPad 7 : Rs. 15,999

23507

ViewSonic Viewpad features are similar (or somehow inferior) to the Olive Pad.

Buy for:

  • 7 inch 800 x 480 px capacitive touch display
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 600 Mhz ARM 11 processor
  • 3G, Wi-FI enabled
  • 3 Mega Pixels Camera (Back)
  • 0.3 Mega Pixels Camera (Front)

Avoid for:

  • Processor too low in comparison to peer tablets

Other details:

No tablets with Android 3.0 Honeycomb or later versions are available under 20K. However, the available options aren’t bad too. I really liked the Mercury mTab which packs almost every thing for a decent price. The only missing feature, 3G could easily compensated with external dongle. What do you think??

      Hi Subhomay
I can feel you are making your mind for Spice MI-410 which is actually Huawei X6 (means indirectly you are buying a huawei phone). I think you should go for this option as it fulfills all your specification requirements. Also Android 2.3 gingerbread update for Spice MI410 is now available in India.
      Hope it helps :)
