y have u put Ace in 5th position when it the best amongst all these 5. is it just becos of the price. I want to handset with decent gamin capabilities. Is 240×320 very bad for good games. I am thinkin of buyin ACE only for its gaming capabilities and for gingerbread support(hopefully it wuld support) otherwise 551 and fit are very very perfect for me.
240×320 resolution does not support high end games… for normal gaming they are perfect…
Additionally Galaxy Ace also has a better processor which would ensure the smooth running of forthcoming Android versions…

Ashwini,perhaps its the one aspect of froyo,you still don’t abt. Froyo doesn’t support front camera. Search what’s new in gingerbread on google,and you’ll find its only from that onwards,that front camera is being supported by android.

All the function you mentioned here work smoothly on Dell XCD35… However, our readers doesn’t give a great review for XCD35… If you compare it with Optimus one, you are paying around 3k extra only for a better screen.

a) Samsung Galaxy Ace could be a good option, You can also consider Motorola Defy (getting Android 2.2 froyo) or Samsung Galaxy SL I9003
b) In terms of Heigh end android phones (above 20k) HTC phones rules over the Galaxy series, but in case of Mid-range Android phones, Samsung Galaxy Models are better.
c)Online purchase are good if you buy through big stores like Flipkart etc… No Idea about stores in Chennai… Is there a Tata Croma store in Chennai, they are offering some good deals

Forget Xperia Mini… It outdated. Out of the former two, Galaxy Ace seems to be better:
- 800 MHz ARM 11 processor is optimal for gaming
- 5 MegaPixel Camera with flash
- Comes with document editor
- Came with stock Android 2.2, hence chances of getting Android 2.3 is more than that of Dell XCD35

No Idea about Flash lite… Push mail is supported but it won’t give you blackberry kinda alert.

Optimus one is now coming for around 9.5k and its a good value for money. Galaxy Ace has a better specs like 3.5 inch screen and 5 Mega pixel camera, but a price of 15k seems bit costly.

Me too had the exact same query as u. And with a budget of juzz close to 15k, i researched a lot including this webpage too. And wat i hav found out is tat if awesome looks matter , then its always galaxy ace or Htc wildfire, better too would be galaxy ace, coz its way more comfortable wen handheld. as for android 2.2, both can be update to 2.3 in future. If u r thinkin of better touch , then Htc wildfire is a better bet then galaxy ace.
But none the less, I would go for galaxy ace coz of its shear looks and also the numerous applications and a good touch which is comfortable enough if not as good as htc with the same price range.

I have tried both iPhone and Samsung Galaxy GT- I5503 . There is much difference how the touch respond for a iPhone and in Samsung Galaxy Android 2.1 . iPhone response to touch is phenomenal. It knows where to stop and smart enough as to what i am exactly searching for.
Truly – I don’t have the budget for iPhone . But can a Android phone with 15K range give me better experience related to :
a) smart search
b) touch response & ease of use from touch screen perspective
c) future Android updates
d) Better battery life

Samsung Galaxy Ace seems to be fine for you. The only thing it does not have is a good inbuilt memory.
From Android 2.2 you can install apps directly on memory card, so you might not need a good inbuilt memory.
You can also consider Samsung Galaxy I9003 as it comes with 4 to 16 GB inbuilt memory, but you won’t get flash for camera in it.
Go for Android… Symbian is a sinking ship….
When Nokia itself is adapting Windows 7, what is the reliability that they will support Symbian^3 for long.

Right now there is no android phone in India in this budget which serves all you requirement. You can go for Samsung Galaxy Ace which can somehow satisfy you.

whether to go for an android based phone or a blackberry.

Mazhar you have choosen the right phones as per you needs.
First of all remove the HTC wildfire from you list as its an old and low powered device.
Out of rest two, Samsung Galaxy Ace seems to take more weightage than Blackberry 9300 3G. It gives you a larger screen, better camera, flexibility of Android etc. The only thing you will loose with Ace is the Alerts for mail. I have heard of some Blackberry messenger kind of applications are to be launched for Android.
I suggest Ace.

Hi Arjun… If you don’t want use much apps then you really don’t need Android. Coz when you buy an Android phone, you have o compromize on other fronts.,
Forget about Nokia C6, its an obsolete phone.
Out of rest two, I recommend Nokia C7 as it seems a complete phone with a 8 MP camera and super Amoled screen. However screen resolution is lower than Wave 2. But that hardle matters.

3. Samsung phone have a problem for closing application, As i have read on the web. Because of which it hangs sometimes.

Hitesh,I am currently using spice mi 310(processor speed 600 mhz) and before it,i was using aircel ideos(processor speed 528 mhz). And the difference of just 72 mhz was more than noticeable.On my mi 310,games are much more smoother than ideos.So you can think what the difference of 200 mhz can do.
Secondly,i would recommend you to buy spice mi 410 (1 ghz qualcomm processor,4.1 inch capacitive screen,480*800 res,bluetooth 3.0).

I had kept my budget as Rs 15,000 and so was recommended the Samsung Galaxy Ace (Rs 15,200), but then also came across the the Samsung galaxy fit (Rs. 10,600). The price difference is almost 5 thousand and I was wondering if the Ace is actually worth that much more… What is your opinion in this regard? What edge does it have over the Fit? And also, should I consider the HTC Wildfire?

people say new mobile should be charged for atleast 8 hrs switching off. does is work???????
few suggesns
1. decrease the brightness………it drains a lot of battery power
2. make sure wi fif and bluetooth are switched off when not required
3. make sure u complete ur battery cycles….that is almost complete charging and discharging..

hi varun i am using awesome galaxy ace the difference is their resolution which effects the clearity of the phone whether its 5 m.pixels or 2 m. pixels. Fit doesn’t have the good resolution. in the mid range optimus one is the best.
issue, when i purchased galaxy ace the sales suggested me SMART FLASH PLAYER to be downloaded from android market i did the same but didn’t work. its becz i want to run the TV on it, can anyone help.

Galaxy Ace is a good phone but lacks front camera…. rest of the phones you mentioned have 600 mhz processor which may ruin the enjoyment of Android

Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 is better than Samsung Galaxy Ace as it posses better cpu (1 Ghz over 800 mhz), larger screen and dual camera. However there is no flash for camera in SL I9003.
Offcourse in Android vs blackberry, Android is better… You can also go for Samsung Google nexus S which comes for 20k and is even better.

Go for Nokia C6-01 if you are not mad about Android. The Super Amoled screen and 8 Megapixel camera keeps it ahead of Galaxy Ace. However Symbian^3 OS is way behind Android in terms of Apps.
Both are priced around 13.5k in India, checkout the price in qatar to get the clear figure.

Well if you are not mad about Androids, then you can surely go with the Name and that’s Nokia..
The dependability of the phone over the WI-Fi network totally depends upon the Internet network speed and also upon the number of applications that you are using on your phone, or have been installed on yur phone..
Nokia is the best brand i have ever used, even my friends finds the same..still yu have ur own opinion , u can choose to go with galaxy ace..
But one of my friend has recently bought and galaxy ace, and its battery gets down in 6 hours, he has also not installed too many applications also, still it go down soon. .
In comparision nokia do gives u a upper hand..

Thanks for your good words… If I was given an option, I will go for Spice MI-410 (rebranded Huawei X6)…. Just for 14k it posses all the features of high end mobiles like 1ghz processor, large screen etc. Look for the reviews of Huawei X6 and you will get a clear picture.
Nokia C6-01 is another good option if you aren’t mad about Android.

I believe it will have a 15-20% performance increase, which can come closer to Galaxy S’s 1GHz humming bird.
After killing un-necessary tasks & processes, I have never felt a lag in any graphics yet.
defy is waterproof is a big plus!
Ringtone volume is loud and has bass & quality
The only 2 -ves about defy are:
1. Some space should have been provided below the touch-sensitive buttons,
as they get often pressed(lower left corner) accidentally while operating defy with one hand
2. battery backup is not much
I would definately go for defy, for screen and x-proofs

If Smartphone means just browsing then every phone is a smartphone, phones with internet browsing also do come within 3K INR.
All the Samsung galaxy series phones priced above or below 15K INR do have everything in common apart from memory and processor.
The most ridiculous part is that they do not have smart WiFi and Bluetooth features.
Certainly the NFC type features are missing.
Just with a big screen if its costs more then why not opt for a Nokia Lumia. It is even smarter, faster and also priced lower than the galaxy devices.

1)processor must be around 1GHZ so i can get good speed and hence I can play HD games faster.

I would like to buy a smart phone. This will be my first smart phone.
At the moment I make about 3 hrs of calls a day, use the camera a lot (I love taking street photographs). I use a lot of google and will use emails (office and personal); I am also bad at charging my phone so don’t want to go for something like samsung S2 which gives about half to one day of battery plus it is expensive.
After reading reviews here is what I think this might be a good config for a phone:
Android OS, 1GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 5 MP camera, Flash, 2G,3G, 4 GB internal storage which can upgraded upto 32 GB via microSD card slot, S-AMOLED screen.
My budget is about 15-20K
Can you please suggest a good phone.
I am not in any hurry and can even wait a month or so but please recommend something that will last.
I have seen the Samsung – Wave III and liked it a lot but since the OS is Bada a lot of people say not to go for it.

The cheapest Super AMOLED screen with Android is Samsung Galaxy S plus which comes for around 20.5k. Nice phone, you can go for it
In case you can go without AMOLED, I suggest LG Optimus 2x.
Bada is a nice OS but there’s hell scarcity of apps in the store which makes it only for the people who are not fond of tweaking their mobile much. People are right, stay away.

Hi Ashwini, I have sorted out the two phones – HTC One V and Sony Xperia U. I bit confused between which one to buy because Xperia U has a Dual core processor but lacks expansion of memory (Only 4Gb inbuilt). I have budget of 16K to 17K but both the phones are slightly above my budget so will there be price drop of these two mobile. Suggest me other choices too around my range.
