Five 3G Mobiles with Dual Sim – February 2011

  • Sharebar

Almost all the companies have started 3G in their respective spectrum areas and with some decent speed test results, we assume that 3G is definitely gonna rock.

Most of the new mobiles releasing nowadays are loaded with 3G, but the problem comes when you search for a 3G dual sim mobile phone in India. As of now we have limited options available in this segment. Hence, to ease your search, we have compiled a list of all the 3G powered dual sim mobiles available in Indian market.

3G dual sim mobiles under Rs. 10,000

1. Spice QT95 : Rs. 5,500

spice-qt95

Spice QT95 is the most economic 3G Dual Sim (3G+2G) Mobile in India. The features offered are quite impressive considering the price. In addition to a 3.2 Mega Pixel camera, it offers a secondary camera for video calling. Other features like optical trackpad, SNS, FM recording etc makes it a great buy. The only thing we did not like about this phone is its comparatively small screen.

  • 2-inch TFT Display Screen
  • 3.2 MP Camera, Secondary VGA Camera
  • Web browser, Java, Preloaded apps
  • Up to 8GB+8GB (Dual Expandable Memory)
  • Official webpage

2. Beetel TD-590 : Rs. 6199

TD590_front_L

Beetel TD590 is a 3G+2.5G mobile from the house of Bharti Airtel. The phone has stunning looks and is preloaded with number of Internet and social networking apps.

  • 2.4 inches TFT screen
  • 3.2 MP Camera, Secondary VGA Camera
  • Wireless FM Radio With Recording
  • WAP And Opera Mini Browser, Java, Games
  • Official Webpage
  • Best buy

3. Spice G6565 : Rs. 9,900

Spice G-6565

Another dual sim (3G+2G) mobile phone from the house of Spice. Frankly speaking, we think the phone is priced a bit high as per the specifications. The main camera is just 2 Mega Pixels and the phone lacks GPS and Wi-Fi. Other specifications are as follows:

  • 2.2 inches, TFT 262K Colours
  • 2 MP Camera, Secondary VGA Camera
  • Opera Mini, Java, Preloaded apps
  • Expendable up to 4GB
  • Official Webpage

3G dual sim mobiles under Rs. 15,000

4. Samsung Star Duos B7722 : Rs. 10,690

Samsung Duos

If you want to spend few more bucks to get a 3G dual sim mobile with 5 Mega Pixel camera and touchscreen, then Samsung Star Duos B7722 might be your stuff. However, we recommend you read the few user’s reviews published here before buying.

  • 3.2 inches, TFT touchscreen, 256K colors
  • 5.0 Mega Pixels Camera with Auto Focus and LED flash
  • Internal Memory : 250MB, Extendable up to 8GB
  • Wi-Fi, Document Viewer, ActiveSync
  • Reviews : GSMArena, Phone Arena
  • Official Webpage
  • Best buy

3G dual sim high end mobile

5. Motorola Glam : Rs. 31, 999

Motorola-Glam-1

Motorola Glam is a GSM+CDMA handset powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. It has a 3.7-inch touchscreen capacitive display supporting 16:9 aspect ratio optimal for video viewing. The XT800 Glam handset has a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture and also an HDMI out port for plugging it to an HD TV. However, we do not recommend this phone as we think it has been priced too highly. A number of better Androids are available at lesser price.

  • 3.7-inch touchscreen FWVGA (480×854) capacitive display
  • Android 2.2 Froyo
  • 5-megapixel camera
  • CPU : 550MHz Texas Instruments OMAP3430 processor
  • 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM
  • Extendable up to 32 GB
  • Wi-Fi, GPS etc
  • Do you think its worth buy? please comment.

As of now we do not have much options in 3G + Dual Sim featured mobiles in India, but we expect few more entries in to this segment by the 1st quarter.  Be with us to follow these stuffs.

But both mobile reviews are not good..was interested in Micromax Q80 but that is not available in market nor online…

Seems spice G6565 good option than QT95 as its having wider screen

It’s a good collection, basic specs would have added some more interest to read further.

Guys: Do not purchase Samsung B7722. I own the phone, and have regretted deciding on it. I can crash the phone on challenge. Just go to an area where there is no coverage and dial out or try to send a message. The phone does not give you a “out of coverage area” message. Instead It keeps trying and trying to call or send message, and finally shuts down/crashes. The same is the case when you are talking and walk away to a no coverage area, it crashes. Wifi is of no use since the browser is supported with hardly any memory. Opening some of the most basic website results in a message “Website too heavy or intensive – have to close” (something like that). If you save multiple numbers for a single contact – you cannot choose which number you want to dial out to reach that person. You are forced to choose the first number saved. The auto lock feature is so irritating, you cant disable it. Every few seconds it auto locks and screen light is auto turned off. If you are talking to customer service- beware, you will be listening to the IVR options, and when you try to press your choice, you will be screaming coz the screen has locked by then. All these imperfections for a phone priced over 10000 rupees, it boils me to have made that horrible decision to buy it.

Review of B7722 after used 6 months:-

          1) Cann’t enter menu during call. (menu will be locked)
          2) Auto switch off between some intervals
          3) Cannot attend calls sometimes (answer key won’t respond)
          4) Photos mix up when u zoom
          5) Don’t think about browsing. error message : page too large
          6) cannot minimize one application and open another one
          7) Call qulaity is not good in speaker mode (after 5 minutes it is noisy)
          8) cannot download even a single song
          9) Samsung not even think of solving these problems. No firmware updation still now.
          10) Buying this mobile = throwing money to dust bin

Latif are you sure about Samsung B 7722? I wanted to purchase this phone but after reading your comment I want to be really very careful. Can you suggest me a phone having dual sim and dual camera facility @ less than Rs. 11k? Is it a good bet to buy a dual sim phone?

      • November 3, 2011 at 8:12 am #

Spice MI-350 is a good option as per your need.

Dual Sim phones are the need of time, however it limits your choices, especially on case of smartphones.

      • latif
        November 14, 2011 at 11:00 am #

        Hi Mayank,

sorry for the late response. I am sure about Samsung B77200, its crap. I bought it in Feb, have regretted about the purchase ever since. The last couple of months its frequently shutting down on its own, and its just not capable of doing basic multitasking. for eg:

        1) I am sending a message, the screen say’s “sending message” – at that point if a call comes in, the phone freezes. Neither can I pick up the call, or even unlock the phone.
        2) I have Bluetooth in my car music system, if I dont want to connect my phone to the Bluetooth in my car, I select “no” on my phone screen when it is trying to pair. But The phone even after having said “no”, doesn’t stop at that, every few seconds it will again and again try to connect, and the pop up keeps coming on the screen.

There are too many faults with this phone to speak of. If you want to consider my suggestion, buy two decent phones, you will be more happier than with owning a dual sim phone. Doesn’t look like dual sim phones have matured yet. I cant comment on other phones since this was my first purchase of a dual sim phone. My requirement was for a dual sim phone with wifi connectivity, and a god browser. What I realized was – phones that market too many features at decent pricing are going to fail expectations. Either spend over 20k and buy a proven handset, or lower down to below 8k and take up a regualr phone.

As for those who think I may be a company representative, challenge me, I will provide my contact details, and when you find out that I am a genuine customer who is pissed, please do publish that on this forum.

Samsung B7722 is a crap phone. That’s all I know.

        Cheers

I trust you Latif. You are highlighting cons of a product and ultimately helping/warning others before purchasing it.

      July 30, 2011 at 10:54 pm #

Nokia still is in 1947, the company keeps its quality better and not the technology available at cheeper cost. You need to wait for another 2 years atleast if u wish to have Nokia Dual + 3G and wi fi phone. As of now only two options left, first purchase dual sim 2G set or second purchase Single sim 3G mobile. All other is rubbish! The new technology still is under review. Dont buy Dual sim+3G phones for atleast 2 years.

    • gurbax
      October 28, 2011 at 1:53 pm #

please dont buy samsung star duo 7722,as it has number of problems, likewise, hangup, phone restarts everytime when u explore files explorer i.e. pictures etc. no firmware update. in good side, picture / video quality is best with 5mp camera. during the call duration no option to go to the main menu etc. when browsing internet, “not enough memory, close some applications” error is common,

    July 30, 2011 at 10:44 pm #

    Dear All,
Pls do not go to spice mobile handsets, earlier the handsets were quality handsets but not now. I had purchased the Spice G-6550 (Rs. 3900) A Dual Sim (3G+2G) phone with good features on the paper! You can only enjoy the features in text but not practically and other Spice mobiles are not different. Phone will be hanged up after internet usage of half an hour further you can not connect it to your PC/laptop… then what is the use of 3G with 3.6Mbps! Further it has got worst ever service centre (local + call centre). So buy only that mobile which has got good post sales service facility.

Invest after good analysis, dont repent later!

Thanks friends. This indeed is a good website. I was planning to purchase Samsung B7722 within this week. However after reading the actual user reviews of the phone, purchasing it is out of question. I have recently come to know of a Nokia dual SIM phone with touch & type feature and probably even 3G @ Rs. 4500. The wal mart people told me that it has been launched recently. Though a little bulky I am yet to know of its user reviews.

There are further options available recently. I found two worthy contestants :-
Spice Mi350 with a graphics chip (200 mhz gpu What ?) and Micromax Superfone Lite A75.

Both are Dual sim, 3G, Android v2.3 OS, 3 Megapix main and vga front camera, Wifi for browsing and Tethering as Access point is supported. Capacitative touch screen is present.
    Prices are below 9000/-

Spice has a bigger battery 1500 vs 1300 of Micromax.

If anyone has bought these models please educate us about your experience.

I want your suggestions to purchase a mobile phone. Which should have following features:-
1.) Atleast 1500 Phone Book Entry Storing Capacity
2.) Atleast 2000 SMS Storing Capacity
3.) Auto/Hot Key Beepless Call Recorder
4.) If Dual Seem than preferrably dual active
5.) Good Battery Back ( Just Like Superhit Nokia’s BL-5C)
    6.) A Good Camera
7.) Preferrably Simple (Candy Bar style) keypad and if not than QWERTY, but not touch screen.
    8.) Light Weight

I found Lava A9 and A16 while searching on net, but the only thing which bothered me is that they have Phone Book Memory Limited To 1000 entries only. I desperately need a phone. Please Advice me ASAP

      frndz
first if you want dual sim phone in low budget of 4000-4500..then i agree with rakesh
Nokia Asha 200 is the best phone

      If u want 3G phone
then u should know some things
with only 3G u can do only video calls
ur 3G phone should be HSDPA (High speed data packet access) enabled so that you can use the high speed internet both on your phone and laptops

Gurinder you can go for nokia C5 qwerty mobile, its best at this rate
but for touchscreen their are lot of options in samsung mobile rate

but for me nokia E72 is still the best in qwerty,if u get from someone’s used
you can do anything in it anything,,and if you can hack then u r god of phone

u can change the camera of 5MP into almost 8MP

    1. Android is an operating system while 3G is feature. Same as Windows 7 is an OS but Wi-Fi is a feature.

    2. Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is coming, if you could wait
